Esther L. Dillie, 85, of Washington, formerly of Scenery Hill, died Wednesday, September 5, 2018, in Southmont of Presbyterian SeniorCare, Washington.
She was born May 6, 1933, in Washington, a daughter of the late Harry K. "Scotty" Scott and Minnie Mae Mounts.
Ms. Dillie was employed at Century Inn and was a member of Calvary Chapel in Fredericktown.
She loved her family and friends and always enjoyed their visits.
Esther found enjoyment in inspiration reading and shows and loved to uplift people's spirits by sending them cards. She also enjoyed reading and writing poetry.
Surviving are a son, Dennis "Drew" Dillie/Debra A. Dillie; a daughter, Debra D. (Mark) Mansfield; a brother, Dale Scott; a sister, Eileen Heckman; four grandchildren, Benjamin (Naomi) Dillie, Sarah (Kyle) Barry, Aaron (Katie) Mansfield and Kelley Mansfield; eight great-grandchildren, Laila, Hudson and Ryan Dillie, Ryland, Nathan, Owen and Isla Barry and Zachary Mansfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a son, Douglas D. Dillie.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 8. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
