Evelyn Sarris Volas

1944 - 2021

Evelyn Sarris Volas, 77, of Canonsburg, died Saturday, March 13, 2021.

She was born January 26, 1944, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Harry and Demetroula Kavourakis Sarris.

Mrs. Volas was a faithful member of the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, where she was active with the Pan Rhodian Society.

Prior to her retirement, she worked as a self employed Hairdresser, and for many years, she worked at Sarris Candies.

She loved to read, and enjoyed crossword puzzles and especially spending time with her family and friends.

On May 3, 1970, she married her loving husband, Eric Volas, who died July 10, 2020.

Surviving are her son, Steven (Carolyn) Volas, of Canonsburg; daughter, Jamie (Dino) Marinelli, of Natrona Heights; sister-in-law, Athena Sarris, of Canonsburg; 4 grandchildren, Stella and Sevina Volas, and Dylan and Shaylin Marinelli; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by her brother, Frank Sarris; and her sisters, Harriet "Kate" Andamasaris, Bessie Johns, and Mary Kotlinski.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, in the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, 601 W. McMurray Road, Canonsburg, PA, 15317. All guests are reminded facial coverings are mandatory. Services will be held at 12:30 p.m., in the church, with Father George Athanasiou, officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.
