George Koratich Obituary
Mr. Koratich was born March 20, 1934, in Rices Landing, a son of the late George and Elizabeth Matty Koratich Sr.
He was a graduate of Jefferson-Morgan High School and worked for many years as a crane operator for Crain Brothers Corp. in Pittsburgh. He was a member of International Union of Operating Engineers.
Mr. Koratich was a member of Rices Landing Athletic Club and Crucible Slavonic Club.
He had a love of the land and was an avid gardener.
Surviving are his wife, Loretta Seese Koratich; a son, Randy Koratich (Maryanne) of Pittsburgh; a daughter, Lynn Largent (Ronald) of Rices Landing; three grandchildren, Stephanie Mugnano (Chris), Bryan Largent (Paige) and Miranda Koratich; three great-grandchildren, Shane Largent, Elizabeth Largent and Biana Mugnano; a sister, Betty Schleper (Dave); and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are five sisters, Mary Balog, Annie Meihe, Stella Koratich, Mildred Silveus and Dorothy Karpuch, and three brothers, Steve, Mike and Joseph Koratich (in infancy).
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, October 21, in Paul M. Lesako Funeral Home Inc., Carmichaels, 724-966-5100, Paul Lesako, supervisor, and Robert Lippencott, director.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grane Hospice Care, 260 Alpha Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15238.
