Glenn Forney Obituary

Glenn A. Forney, 81, of Waynesburg, passed away, in his home, Monday, January 15, 2024, due to cancer, while under the compassionate care of OSPTA Hospice Care. Glenn was born August 6, 1942, to the late Irene B. Forney and Glenn A. Forney. He graduated from Waynesburg Central High School in 1962, then attended Penn Tech in Pittsburgh. He worked for Burn's Appliance Store in Waynesburg and then at RCA in Meadowlands for several years. He retired from Emerald Mine in Waynesburg after 20 years as a coal miner. He was an avid woodworker and carpenter, learning the skills passed on by his father-in-law. He built countless pieces of furniture, clocks and other beautiful items that will be treasured for years to come. He enjoyed helping others and giving advice when needed. He loved animals of all kinds, taking pleasure in the birds and squirrels who visited his handmade feeders. Glenn is survived by his wife of 56 years, Pamela M. Forney; son, Zebulen James Forney, and daughter-in-law, Aditi Mukherjee. Any services will be private and held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for donations, made in Glenn's memory, to the Humane Society of Greene County, 183 Jefferson Road, Waynesburg, PA 15370.
