James J. Spilak

James J. Spilak, 55, of North Strabane Township, passed away Monday, March 23, 2015, in Canonsburg Hospital.
He was born November 24, 1959, in Washington, a son of Jessica E. Moes Spilak and the late Paul A. Spilak II.
Mr. Spilak was a 1977 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School and was previously an inspection mechanic with Firestone. Most recently, he was self-employed.
He was a lifelong member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Canonsburg.
Mr. Spilak enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed classic cars. He loved animals, especially his cat, Elvis.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are a brother, Paul A. (Beth) Spilak III of North Strabane; two sisters, Mary Lynn Spilak of East Washington and Suzanne (Brian) Myers of Washington; niece and goddaughter Alexandra Myers; niece Melissa Spilak; nephew Michael (April) Spilak; great-niece Chloe, nephews Christopher, and Nathan; and a special cousin, Rita Polansky.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, Lin Webb, funeral director, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where departing prayers will begin at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 26, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at noon in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 317 West Pike Street, Canonsburg. Interment will follow. The rosary will be recited at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
