It is with profound sadness and much love that the family of John Joseph Interval, of Lawrence, announce his unexpected passing Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at the age of 63 years. He was a bright spark in this world and will be deeply missed by many.
He was born April 22, 1959, in Washington, a son of the late Anthony and Mary Spalla Interval.
John graduated from Immaculate Conception High School and continued his education, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from California University of Pennsylvania. He was self-employed as a professional petroleum geologist. John was known for being incredibly passionate about his work in the oil and gas industry. He was a giving, caring and selfless soul. He made close friends throughout his successful career and earned the respect of so many of his peers.
He was an avid golfer, collector of sports memorabilia, enjoyed watching Pittsburgh Steelers games, and loved his cat, "Blizzard".
John was a very talented musician who wrote and performed his own songs for over 45 years. He and his band, "Pass The Word", have entertained many over the years with the gift of their music. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, brother, and uncle.
In 1999, John met the love of his life and best friend, Amy Clover, in Clarion on a blind date, who survives. They wed May 22, 2001, in Myrtle Beach, after a round of golf. He was incredibly in love with Amy and was so proud to purchase their dream home last year as their love story continued. Although he and Amy only lived in their new neighborhood for a year, they formed close friendships and shared many Friday night dinners together with their special neighbors.
Also left to cherish his memory are his son, John Interval II and wife Kerri of Washington; his brother, Anthony Interval of Lawrence; his grandchildren, Lily, Grayson, Eliza, and Jake; his great-granddaughter, Mckinley; his brother-in-law, Dan Clover; four nieces; one nephew; and one great-niece. He also leaves behind many other family members and friends who loved him dearly. He will be forever in their hearts and missed very much every day.
To honor John, there will be a joyful celebration of his life at 11 a.m. Friday, July 8, in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A luncheon will follow at Julian's Banquet Hall, 78 W. Maiden Street, Washington. His friends and family are invited to share happy memories and celebrate John's life in the way he would want to be remembered-as a loving and caring man who enjoyed life.

I did not know John. A friend and I discovered him while searching for water drinking videos. We came across his cat, Blizzard Sebastian, drinking water out of a bottle cap. From thereon, we did some more research on this John Interval character, and eventually discovered his music. His music was a pleasure to listen to, you could tell that he truly put his soul into his career as a musician. After that, we unfortunately came to learn of his passing. May he rest in peace.

John was one of a kind. Always a smile on his face and always sincere about each word spoken. I worked with John in 1990-91 along with Terry and Steve while at Meridian in Pittsburgh. John was one of the nicest guys I´ve ever had the pleasure to work with. He was also one of the sharpest and most creative and inquisitive geologists I´ve ever known.
You will be greatly missed my good friend.

John worked with me in the oil and gas business for several years. I was quickly impressed by his passion and desire to work and learn. He always wanted to do his best and was a quick study. John
was a good researcher for data and developed a strong approach to prospecting for oil and gas. He also made work extremely enjoyable with his smile, happy attitude and always a supportive nature, and those one-armed hugs. Not to mention his great stories. He was loyal to his friends and to his job. He loved his wife and his family. He had a drive and zest for life as long as I have known him. I hired John for his first OG job and 6 years later he hired me. John was a loyal and trusting friend. We miss you buddy. I will miss the laughter we had every time we spoke.
See you on the other side my good friend,
Love you man,
Terry
