John Ronto Obituary

John A. Ronto, 77, of North Strabane Township, passed away unexpectedly Monday, August 19, 2024, in his home. He was born October 17, 1946, in Yatesboro, Armstrong County, a son of the late John, Jr. and Mary Vinansky Ronto. Mr. Ronto was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. He was employed as a coal mining foreman by Bethlehem Mines for more than 19 years. He enjoyed hunting. On October 4, 1969, he married Nancy Kolesar, who resides in North Strabane Township. Surviving are three children, John D. (Linda) Ronto of Washington, Beth A. (Richard) Napoleon of Pittsburgh, and Amy J. (Steven) Rogalsky of Canonsburg. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Julianna (Christopher) Wheatley, Jenna Ronto, Anthony Napoleon, Steven Rogalsky, Andrew Napoleon, Ashley Rogalsky, and Jack Napoleon; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of a blessing service, Wednesday, August 21, in the Mario L. DeAngelo Funeral Home, 194 East College Street, Canonsburg, with Deacon Tony Mobley officiating. Military honors will be held at the funeral home following the blessing service by the United States Army. Interment will be at a later date at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
