John Raymond Yurko

John Raymond Yurko, on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, our beloved son Johnny Yurko, was called back to Heaven to be with our Lord Jesus Christ. He was such a light that burned so bright in this world. John will be most remembered for his love of his family and friends, infectious smiles and laughter, joyous love of life, dancing (Gangham Style) his cat Winnie, and lover of all things SpongeBob. He created moments of laughter and his zest for life will forever be cherished by anyone who met him. In addition to John's parents Ray and Mary Lynn, John was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Alice "Gram Gram" and John "Pappy John" Hronakes. John is survived by his maternal aunts and uncles, Crissy and Billy Andrejko, Kathy and Tom Cain, Uncle George Hronakes and Mike Dovalis, Ashley and Rich Paradise; paternal grandparents, Bernard and Marylou Yurko, Patricia Germanowski, and aunts and uncles Michelle and Tim Reid, Kim Williams. John made a lasting impact on his school and community as a dedicated member of the Adaptive Sports Inc. Community, Canon McMillan Unified Track and Field Team and Bocce Team, and Miracle League of SW PA where he not only displayed athletic talent but a true team spirit that lifted and encouraged everyone around him. His kindness and positivity and genuine compassion touched countless lives in Canon Mac's Best Buddies Club and E sports clubs. Visitation will be held Friday, November 28th at Beinhauer Funeral Home, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. (Trisagion at 7 p.m.). On Saturday, November 29th at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church from 10 to 11 a.m. visitation, services will begin at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church (located at 123 Gilkeson Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15228). Interment will be following the service at Queen of Heaven Cemetery 2900 Washington Rd, in Peters Township.
