Jonathan L. Simms, 61, of Washington, died on Sunday, February 5, 2023, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He was born on June 12, 1961, a son of Jo Ann Claffey Simms and the late William A. Simms.
Jonathan was a 1979 graduate of Trinity High School.
He was the owner / operator of Jonathan L. Hair Salon.
Jonathan enjoyed collecting Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley memorabilia, and he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving are: a brother, Gregory (Martha) Simms; two sisters, Lou Ann (Todd) LeVan and Billie Jo (Matthew) Mance; a nephew, Matthew; four nieces, Cassie, Abby, Ali and Mallory; five great-nephews; and four great-nieces.
At the request of the deceased, all services were private.
Arrangements are entrusted to William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.

I grew up with John and we were childhood friends, although I haven´t seen him in years, I´ll never forget his wit and how he always made me laugh, what a wonderful hairstylist he was, just overall kind terrific person. Deepest sympathy to the family. I started going to Jon when he worked at salon at the Washington Mall; then followed him to Cut Above. He was the only one I trusted to color my hair! I have lost contact over the years, but haven't had a hair cut I really liked since I stopped going to him. Rest in peace Jon. I am sure all the angels will be lining up to get a new hairstyle.
