Joseph John Kubas

Joseph John "Abe" Kubas, 98, of Canonsburg, died Sunday, December 14, 2025. He was born December 4, 1927, in Hendersonville, a son of Joseph and Rosalia Babinsky Kubas. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191, the American Legion, Post 793, and enjoyed spending time with his friends doing activities at the Canonsburg Senior Center. On June 25, 1955, he married his loving wife of over 69 years, Mary Helen Kubas, who survives. Also surviving are his son, Joseph (Peri) Kubas of Washington; his daughters, Anna Marie (Jack) Erson of Carnegie, Rose (Mike) Pounds of Foxworth, Miss., and Veronica (Gery) Sutherland of Canonsburg; six grandchildren, Michael (Tiffany), Joseph (Renee), Justin, James, Carrera, and Vincent; two great-grandchildren, Dylan and Joseph; and great-great-grandchild, Aiden. In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Pawlish; and his grandson, Nicholas. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, December 18, in Sollon Funeral and Cremation Service, Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, PA 15317, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, 724-746-1000, where services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, December 19, followed by burial at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville.
