Kathy Fowler Obituary

Kathy Lynn Fowler, 71, of Washington, fell asleep in death on Friday, October 31, 2025, surrounded by family and friends, after a battle with multiple health issues. She was born in Waynesburg on February 26, 1954, to Nannie and Raymond West. She graduated from Waynesburg High School in 1972. She went on to work as a data analyst for many years. Kathy married the love of her life, Danial Fowler on January 19, 1974. Together they raised their family in Dan's hometown of Scenery Hill. She was a talented cake decorator, who put her talent to use in decorating hundreds of wedding cakes. She especially loved making cakes for her friends and family to celebrate their special occasions. She was known for her hospitality and decorating for her favorite season, autumn. She loved traveling with Dan. They enjoyed exploring the South. They especially enjoyed Wilmington, Carolina Beach, Charleston and Savannah. They were avid 'Stone Walkers', visiting many of the oldest cemeteries in the country. Dan was a Civil War buff and Kathy loved spending time exploring most of the battlefields and cemeteries of that era. She loved the day trips that she took with Dan, most centered around covered bridges in the tri-state area. She also loved to take drives in the autumn to view the fall foliage. She also enjoyed traveling with their dear friends, Jim and Wendy Duggan. Above all else, Kathy loved spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She was one of Jehovah's Witnesses, faithfully serving in Brownsville (Centerville), Waynesburg and Washington congregations. Kathy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Danial; parents and sister, Karen Nyandemoh. She is survived by her sons, Derek and Ryan; daughter, Allyshia Kohosek (Matthew); and grandchildren: Mason, Lucas, Nora and Ellyana. Also surviving is her half-sister, Maryiln Newcombe, with whom she enjoyed a relationship the last few years of her life. Additionally, surviving are several nieces and nephews, among them she had grown especially close to Nelson (Shani) and Neil Nyandemoh and their families. She felt blessed to be able to help raise Buddy (Stewart) Fowler and Vicki Murray. Additionally, Melissa Edmond, Seth Lippert and Tara Miller were dearly loved as her own children. Services will be held at Washington Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, 70 Cleveland Road, at 3 p.m. Sunday, November 9. Zoom information can be provided upon request from the family.
