LaVerne Schury, 81, of Canonsburg, died Thursday, January 6, 2022, peacefully in her home.
She was born July 30, 1940, in Canonsburg, a daughter of Martha Petrosky Gubasko.
LaVerne worked as a Nurse's Aide for 38 years, at Canonsburg Hospital.
She enjoyed sitting on her porch looking at her flowers, and was a big Steeler fan, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are daughters, Joy (Robert) Ranko, of Washington, Marybeth (Ronald W.) Golna, of Washington; her son, Charles (Vickie) Schury, of Washington; seven grandchildren; Rob (Katherine), Jonathan (Charlotte) Ranko, Meredith (Brad), Ron (Ashely) Golna, Samantha, Bo, and Miranda Schury; great grandchildren Izzy, Lucy, Remington, Easton, Kayden, Kennedy; and her former husband, Charles E. Schury.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her brother, William Gubasko; and her sister, Betty Ewig.
Services are private and entrusted to Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, owner / supervisor, 724-746-1000.
