Linda Beck Sonson

Linda Beck Sonson, 86, of Washington, died Friday, September 19, 2025, in the Washington Hospital. She was born January 14, 1939, in Washington, a daughter of the late Arlington S. and Margaret Schmitt Beck. Linda was a 1956 graduate of Washington High School. She worked as a seamstress at Bobby Brooks clothing store in her younger years. She went on to work as an EKG technician at Washington Hospital, where she worked for over 25 years before her retirement. Linda enjoyed sewing and reading, but her greatest joy was taking care of her family. On July 23, 1960, in Washington, she married the love of her life, Andrew Sonson, Jr., who survives. Also surviving are a son, Paul Sonson of Washington; two daughters, Julie (Charles) Carpenter and Joyce (Mark) Schuler, both of Washington; a sister, Karen (John) Legler of Washington; four grandchildren, Drew Carpenter, Jason Carpenter, Rachel Wood, and Krista Schuler; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased, in addition to her parents, are two sisters, Arlene Rihs and Merridy Leppert. Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of service, Friday, October 3, 2025, in the Hummell and Jones Funeral Home, 420 Locust Ave., Washington, PA 15301, Dr. Lawrence K.
