Mark, Sharon, Dick and families,
I wish to extend my condolences to all of you on the passing of your mother and sister but thankful we are all sure she is in her heavenly home and no more suffering. I am glad that I had the privilege of a nice visit with Mary when I was a patient at Southmont last October. A nurse took me to her room then gave me permission to stop at the 4th floor and find my way back to my room on the main floor.

Mary Bash left her mark on a lot of Lone Pine kids, driving our school bus, first to Lone Pine Grade School and then to Trinity High. Always our friend, happy to see us morning and evening, she handled a difficult job with ease and grace. A great role model.

Aunt Mary always knew I loved words, as did Sharon and Mark when I told them stories in the 1950s. She gave me a copy of "Origins" by Eric Partridge for high school graduation. I have long treasured that volume tracing the beginnings of words. I write for my mom, Betty, 97, in assisted living in Nazareth, Pa.
