Michael Bashur Obituary

Michael "Mick" Frederick Bashur, 80, of Murrysville, surrounded by his beloved family, folded his earthly tent and went face-to-face with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at 5:25 p.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2021, in UPMC East Hospital, following a two-month hospitalization.

He was born January 11, 1941, in Washington, a son of Frederick and Elizabeth Jacobs Bashur. He moved his family to Murrysville in 1976.

Mr. Bashur graduated from Washington High and spent 43 years working for Metropolitan Life, rising to district manager.

On April 23, 1960, he married Francis Ann Frank, who survives. He remains the love of her life.

Also surviving are two daughters, Jackie Milheim (husband Will) of Apollo and Michele Anderson (husband Keith) of Export; two sons, Michael Bashur of Murrysville and Bill Bashur (wife Patty) of Delmont; his precious granddaughters, Michele Milheim of Oakmont and Hannah Milheim Novacco of Blawnox; nephews David, Paul (wife Tracy), and Aric Chropek; his great-nephew, Paul Chropek; his cherished cousin, Anita Kongelka; and his favorite granddog, Buddy.

Deceased are brothers, Edward Alfred Bashur and William Edward Bashur; and a sister, Rhoda Isaac.

Mick is remembered for his selfless generosity to those in need and his undying devotion to his family. He enjoyed competitive cooking with his wife, Fran, as well as crossword puzzles, Jeopardy, and watching sports. Fond memories include seeing Roberto Clemente play at Forbes Field. He served several years as the organizer for the Syrian Picnics in Washington.

Friends will be received for a celebration of Mick's life at 12 p.m. Saturday, September 25, in Hart Funeral Home, Inc., 3103 Lillian Avenue, Murrysville, PA 15668.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

While growing up I enjoyed seeing Mickey and Frances Ann visit our home. When I moved to Pennsylvania to care for my father before he passed away in 1997, you both warmly received me in your home. I've often thought of you both over the years. Sorry to hear about your loss Frances Ann. Prayers for you and the Bashur family.
