Pete M. Huzor Jr.

Pete M. "Hammer" Huzor Jr., 76, passed away unexpectedly on February 15, 2026 in the Washington Hospital. He was born on December 11, 1949, in Brownsville, a son of the late Pete M. Sr. and MaryAnn Matyi Huzor. Pete graduated from the Beth Center High School in 1968. On September 23, 1972, he married his wife, Maryann Frank Huzor, who survives. He was employed as a Field Service Engineer for McGraw Edison / Pennsylvania Transformer, in Canonsburg for over 30 years. After an extended career he fully retired in 2023. In his spare time, he had many hobbies including: hunting and fishing, canning vegetables from his garden, cooking and was known as an excellent cook. He also looked forward to Pike Days and cherished his Dachshund, Munchkin. He was catholic by faith. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are nephew, George Kelly of Richeyville; two cousins, Judy Matyi of Cleveland, Ohio and Robin Poole of Pittsburgh. Preceding him in death is his sister, Shirley Kelly; godson, Anthony W. Kime; cousin, Kenny Matyi; beloved dogs: Dutchess and Skeeter; and Spunky the Cat. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to St. Judes Research Hospital at www.st.jude.org. Friends will be received from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 19, in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home Ltd., 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, where a blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery.
