Philip L. Scott Sr.

Philip L. Scott, Sr., of Freeland, Mich., passed away peacefully Thursday morning, July 11, 2024, in Stone Crest Assisted Living, Freeland, at the age of 86 years. Philip was born March 3, 1938, in Port Allegheny, the oldest of two children to the late Monte L. and Lois Thomasy Scott. Philip resided in this area most of his life. He was educated at Union High in Burgettstown, and also attended the College of Wooster and Michigan State University. On October 18, 1969, Phil married Carol Hoag and they had a blessed family. She predeceased him February 18, 2022. Phil was a retired supervisor from General Motors Malleable Iron Central Foundry Division. He was an avid traveler for many years, visiting many American history sites. He also spent many hours snowmobiling, and boating with his family. Four wheeling in the mountains of Arizona was a great joy of his. Phil is survived by his two children, Ric (Stacy) Levi, and Phil (Jennifer) Scott II; grandchildren, Jessie (Jonathan) Levi, Lace Stalter, Dakota (Veronica) Talbot, Monte (Samantha) Scott, Eric Levi, Morgan (Tyler) Knight, Hunter Levi and Craig Levi; two great- grandchildren, Scarlett Knight, Charlotte Scott; and his sister, Judy (Bob) Kuzior. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two children, Cheri (Sonny) Talbot and Craig Levi. A private celebration will be held at a later date. Per Phil's wishes, cremation has already taken place. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Stone Crest Assisted Living, Freeland; or the donor's favorite charity.
