Ralph Davis Obituary
He was born March 21, 1936, in Dawson, a son of the late Isaac and Sarah Bates Davis.
On August 22, 1972, he married Sandra Hersher, who survives.
Also surviving are seven children, John Walter Davis (Teresa), Jerry Wayne Davis, Joseph Lee Davis, Susan Marie Davis, Judith Davis, Edward Allen Davis (Christine) and Sarah Catherine Davis; three stepchildren, Dora Mae Black, James Edward Black and Joseph Robert Black (Nancy); 23 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Jusko.
Deceased are his first wife, Rosella Shaffer; two sons, Ralph Davis Jr. and James Ray Davis; and a daughter, Lisa Jean Davis.
Mr. Davis served four years in the U.S. Navy.
He retired after 36 years from Dilworth Mine. He was a member of United Mine Workers of America Local 1980.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 10 to 11 a.m., the time of service, Thursday, June 26, in Lesako Funeral Home Inc., 204 Dowlin Avenue, Carmichaels, PA 15320, 724-966-5100, Paul M. Lesako, director/supervisor, with the Rev. Beverly Sowden officiating. Full military rites will be accorded by Carmichaels American Legion Post 400 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3491 in the funeral home.
