Robert J. "Bob" Allen, 65, of Crucible, died Sunday, January 1, 2017, in UPMC-Presbyterian hospital, Pittsburgh, following a brief illness.
He was born March 16, 1951, in Chicago, Ill., a son of the late Woodrow W. and Arline R. Drobisch Allen.
Mr. Allen was a graduate of Lane High School in Chicago and was a truck driver in and around the Chicago area.
He loved animals and was a kind and generous person, who just enjoyed living life.
Mr. Allen resided in the Crucible area since 2007.
His companion of many years, Carol Ann Kerr, died November 3, 2011.
Surviving are a sister, Jean R. Tierney of Gurnee, Ill.; a cousin, Thomas Kurtz, and his children, Michael and Jennifer Kurtz; an aunt; and several cousins.
Family and friends are welcome from 4 to 8 p.m., the time of a blessing service, Sunday, January 8, in Yoskovich Funeral Home, 300 South Vine Street, Carmichaels, 724-966-5500, Martin J. Yoskovich, funeral director, with the Rev. John M. Bauer officiating. Interment will be private.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to Humane Society of Greene County, 183 Jefferson Road, Waynesburg, PA 15370.
