Robert "Coach Bob" Crowe, of West Alexander, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2021, with his loving family by his side. Bob was born November 26, 1946, and was one of 15 children of Henry and Georgia Crowe. His love of family and football was seen in all aspects of his life.
Bob devoted 46 years to coaching and mentoring young men in McGuffey Youth football. Bob never tired of his passion for football, and his dedication to growing the youth football program. It was his heart and soul. Coach Crowe was tough; yet felt that many life lessons could be learned "on the field."
He was admired for his coaching abilities and his investment in the lives of the young men he coached.
Bob loved his family and was most happy when surrounded by his grandchildren – Emily, Brendan, Connor, Kelsey, Kyler, Josie, Avery, Rylan, Levi, and he adored his niece and nephew, Tiffany, and Paul.
Bob was given the opportunity on July 13, 2006, to have 15 more years to watch them all grow, when he was gifted with a heart transplant from an organ donor. He has left an indelible mark on his family and community and will be greatly missed.
On April 27, 1972, he married his devoted wife, Vickie Crowe, who spent her entire life committed to caring for Bob with love and compassion.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Damian (Heather) Crowe, Tori (John) Gearry, Colby (Becca) Crowe, and Michael Crowe.
Friends will be received at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger Street, Wheeling, W.Va., from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2021, with a memorial service to follow immediately after.
Memorial contributions can be made to McGuffey Football Boosters P.O. Box F Claysville, PA 15323.
In light of the amazing gift of life that was given to Bob, the family encourages considering becoming an organ donor.
