My deepest sympathy to Bobs family. My family once managed the Chief's Restaurant at Donaldson Cross Roads, Which was owned by Bobs parents. I remember growing up and playing with Bob, Richard and the other Donaldson kids. Swing on the tire swing behind their house, now gone, picking pumpkins and putting them on McMurray Road and waiting under the shed to see if anyone hit them. I think that was Dickie and me. After 83 years its hard to remember names. I remember Dick jumping over the fire and burning his legs really bad. I was not with him that day. I am guessing this was 1948 or so. Things have changed at the Cross Roads. We lived at 120 Pleasant Ave across from Bob & Alice Cofield, in the big Gray stone house . Also owned the lot that the Pizza Hut was on, now gone for Walgreens Pharmacy, So many memories...
I remember Mrs. Donaldson always had a apron on and was always baking. Mr. Donaldson was always busy around the farm, back then, and I remember when he had his accident and died. I've lived in Missouri since 1968, and don't get home to PA much anymore. I'll turn 83 on May 11. I have a lot of good and fun memories with the Donaldson children.
Again, my sympathy fo the family
