Robert H. Englert

Robert H. Englert, 93, of Washington, PA, formerly of Castle Shannon, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, May 29, 2025. Born on June 11, 1931, in Pittsburgh, PA a son of the late Bernard and Florence Englert. Beloved husband of 73 years to Shirley Martine Englert; loving father to Robert H. Englert Jr., David (Wendy) Englert, Diane Crook, Kathy (Dave) Brown, and Patty (Michelle Donovan) Kreamer; PapPap to seven grandchildren; great-PapPap to 11 great-grandchildren; great-great-PapPap to one great-great-grandchild; brother-in-law, to Lee Lauerman; uncle to Kim Capozzoli; he is also blessed with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is also preceded in death by his four siblings. Born and raised in the South Hills area, Bob dedicated over 55 years to building homes. As a master carpenter, his work will continue to stand for generations, a lasting tribute to his skill and dedication. Bob served his country with honor, and carried that same discipline and loyalty into every part of his life. He was the quiet glue that held his family together, always present with a kind word, a strong back, and his signature sense of humor that could lift a room even in the hardest times. Those who knew him will remember a man who found joy in the simple pleasures - sunny days on the golf course, laughter shared during family holidays, and the pride he carried for his children and grandchildren. He was kind, humble, and funny right up to the end - a true gentleman who earned the respect and admiration of all who crossed his path. Burial with full military honors will take place at a later date at the Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
