Robert Isner Obituary

Robert Allen Isner, 74, of Carmichaels, died Friday, March 6, 2015, in Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg.
He was born September 3, 1940, in Independence, W.Va., a son of the late Harry and Elizabeth DeMoss Isner.
Mr. Isner graduated from Newburg High School, where he was an honor student, lettered in varsity baseball and basketball and was a catcher for the baseball team.
He served in the U.S. Army as a member of the 101st Airborne Paratroopers, stationed at Fort Campbell, Ky.
As a civilian, Mr. Isner was employed at various local mines and drilling companies. While employed as a miner, he held the position of foreman as well as other supervisory positions. He was also a union representative at Martinka Mine.
He was a devoted father, husband, son, brother and uncle to his family. He was happy when he was visited by his daughter, young grandsons and granddaughter. He sadly missed his son who recently passed away. He loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed growing a garden every year, which he shared with family, friends and neighbors. His happiest times were spent relaxing on the porch with his dog, Patch, enjoying the land and wildlife on the farm where he made his home with his partner in Pennsylvania.
Surviving are his devoted and loving partner, Charlotte Jackson; a daughter, Elizabeth Dalton (Allan); three grandchildren, Charles, Katelyn and Thomas; his partner's children, Terri Jackson Laird (Timothy), Wally Jackson and fiancée Lisa Barr, Brieanna Gashie Rompala (Jeffrey), Samantha McClelland (Brad) and Sabrina Jackson; a great-grandchild, Ava Kelly; a brother, Paul Isner (Diane); three sisters, Marlene Grose, Louella Jackson (Robert) and Connie Lewis (Eddie); and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, is a son, Robert Allen Isner II.
Friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, in Rotruck-Lobb Funeral Home, 295 South Price Street, Kingwood, W.Va. A private interment will be held in West Virginia National Cemetery, Pruntytown, W.Va.
The family requests memorial donations be made in Mr. Isner's memory to Preston County Humane Society, P.O. Box 395, Kingwood, WV 26537.
