Robert L. "Bob" Mayle, 82, of Upton, Mass., formerly of Milford, Mass., passed away peacefully, in his home Wednesday, November 5, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Nancy Sloneker Mayle, with whom he shared 63 wonderful years of marriage. Born in Philippi, Bob was a son of the late Thomas and Regina Kennedy Mayle. He was raised and educated in Waynesburg. During high school, Bob was a talented athlete including wrestling and track; and, most importantly, meeting his high school sweetheart, Nancy Sloneker. After graduation, he went on to earn his associate's degree from the Allegheny Technical Institute of Technology in Pittsburgh. He and Nancy then married and lived in the Phoenix, Ariz. area for 13 years, where he started working for Motorola before moving to New England. They settled in Milford, where Bob built a long and fulfilling career with Motorola, proudly serving the company for 34 years before his retirement. Bob found joy in tending to his garden, landscaping, and working on countless home projects both indoors and out. He had a deep passion for family genealogy, creating treasured family genealogy and photo books. Loving sports, he became an enthusiastic New England Patriots fan. Above all, Bob cherished time spent with family, especially his grandchildren, and valued the friendships he formed throughout his life. In addition to his wife, Nancy, Bob is survived by his two children, Kyle Mayle and wife Sandy of Pepperell, Mass., and Mitzi Carpenter and husband Chris of Suffolk, Va.; three adored grandchildren, Emily Mayle, Joshua Mayle, and Zachary Carpenter; his four siblings, Rachel Dulaney of Harrisburg, Ronald Mayle of Jupiter, Fla., Sue Etter and husband Charles of Palmyra, and Tammy Pressley and husband John of Harrisburg; as well as his loving nieces and nephews. His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 12, in the Pickering & Son Upton Funeral Home, 45 Main Street, Upton, Mass. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery in Upton. A period of visitation will precede the funeral service from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., in the funeral home.
