Ronald J. Rudnisky, 83, of Marianna, died Saturday, February 19, 2022, in his home. He was born April 12, 1938, in Etna, a son of the late Joseph and Mary Dernosic Rudnisky.
He served in the United States Army. He then worked various careers throughout his life starting at International Paper, then Marianna Mine, a janitor for Bethlehem Center School District, R&R Cleaning, and most recently as a school bus driver for Pryor Bus Lines.
He was a member of Marianna Methodist Church, where he was a lay leader and former president of the Board of Trustees. He was a member of Masonic Lodge, and active in the Boy Scouts for over 60 years, where he was awarded the Silver Beaver Award. He was proud of his accomplishments within the organization and for being able to take the Marianna Boy Scout Troop to Philmont Boy Scout Camp in New Mexico.
He loved camping, wood crafts, watching the Pittsburgh Penguins and Steelers, the WWE and enjoyed traveling with his late wife.
On April 7, 1967, he married Ruth Mae Rogers, with whom he shared 45 years of marriage before her passing February 8, 2012.
He is survived by two daughters, Renee Lynn Rudnisky and Ronda Ann Rudnisky, both of Marianna; a brother, Lonnie W. (Mary Ann) Rudnisky of Amity; a close family friend, JJ McNurlen; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his wife and parents, are two infant brothers.
Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 23, and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 24, in the Nichol Funeral Home, 1873 East Maiden Street, Washington, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 25. Interment will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, February 28, at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Full military rites will be accorded by Steele Lillie American Legion Post 744 of Marianna.
