Teodolinda Beccari Obituary

Teodolinda "Teddy" Navarro Beccari, age 95, of Squirrel Hill, formerly of Hickman, Collier Township, passed from this life into God's presence on Friday, November 15, 2019, at her son's home.

She is the devoted wife of the late Angelo, "Andy," beloved mother of Louis A. and John "Jeff," her adopted son, and Granny of Josh Weitzel, whom she loved with all her heart. Mrs. Beccari is the daughter of the late Ignacio and Maria Ruiz Navarro and sister of the late Ramona, Juan, Francisco and Marcelino.

She was born in Coalcoman, Michoacn, Mexico, and grew up in Ciudad Valles, San Luis Potosi, Mexico.

On February 15, 1962, she and her husband, Andy, married in Ciudad Valles, and together, they shared 36 years of marriage.

She was known by many names, "Teddy", "Teodora," "Yaya," "Teodorita," "Ta," "Abuelita," "Mrs. B." and "MM." One name in particular, "Sister Girl," was given to her many years ago by John.

Home canning, baking, making apple pies and driving her car were some of the things she enjoyed most in life. When her grandson, Josh, got his learner's permit, she was very involved in taking him out to practice his driving. At the end of each lesson, there was an apple pie waiting for him.

Mrs. Beccari will be greatly missed by her many dearly loved friends, nephews and nieces in the United States and Mexico.

She was a parishioner of St. Barbara's Church, Bridgeville, and member of the Christian Mothers Guild. Also, the family is extremely thankful for the many heartfelt forms of love, prayers, support and home-cooked meals received from Sandra Oliva, Doreen Simeone and Kim Lesante. A very special thank you to a wonderful physician and dear friend Dr. Lesley Degiovanni, M.D. Vaya con Dios!

Family and friends were received Sunday and will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Warchol Funeral Home Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412-221-3333). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon Tuesday, November 19, at St. Barbara Church. View and share condolences at www.warcholfuneralhome.com.

Dear Louis,
It was a huge privilege to get to know Granny in the last year of her life.
We simply loved going to visit and sing with her with our family. To hear about her younger days baking the best apple pies. Celebrating birthdays and Christmas times together. Then to sit around your table with Pizza or rolls with Granny watching on from her chair with a big grin on her face. To watch my mother Oma and Granny rattling away in Spanish was a total treat! Granny was direct, honest, thankful, cared about people and it showed every time we met.
She was a friend to us and did not turn not away during the hard time after my Dad passed away over a year ago now.
When Granny passed away we let the White Doves fly, just as we did at my Dads funeral, Oma had lit her lamp on the wall and we all felt gratitude for having gotten to know her. For having gotten to know you and John. And most of all how you both cared for Granny right to the very end of her earthly life.
Granny had completed the race and left nothing undone. She often told us I have had a good life Granny was ready to cross the finish line into heaven!
Courage and all our love,
Johann and Rachel Arnold and family

Mr. Weitzel and Uncle~

My time with Granny was short, but her love was not. I have had the pleasure to be welcomed into a household that has more love than anything that I have ever seen, and I am so thankful for that. She was truly blessed to have a loving family that made every sacrifice necessary for her and she knew it. In her passing, I had the opportunity to read some of her writings and they were some of the best that I have ever had the pleasure to read. It is truly amazing to see someone count their blessings and be thankful for all that they have each and every day. I will always cherish the advice that she gave me during our girl talks, the laughs from when she looked like a ghost lawn ornament on the lake houses front porch, the boat rides, and the time that I got to spend painting her nails. To see all of the love that she had for others and others had for her was truly remarkable. I know that I have not known your family for long, but I can say that you both provided the best life for her and did everything right! She was an amazing woman and that was represented in an amazing celebration of her life. She now has eternal life in heaven and can watch over everyone with the best seat anyone could ever get, with God, each and every day. But just waitttt a minuteeeeeeeeeeee Im not quite done.

Josh~
I want you to know that you are so loved by everyone in your life. Even though you say that you do not have any grandparents left, you are still loved more than ever. I know that they are not physically here anymore, but they are with you every step of the way. Be kind, be courageous, be strong for they are forever in your heart. Dont fret when you need advice because their words are forever with you and always find a way to come to you. You know what they would do and say so each and every day may you walk, talk, and act the way that they would want you to. Keep making them proud forever and always.

I will miss my Tia Teadora. She was always there to give me advice and guidance and despite our distance, she always made an effort to keep in touch. Later, I enjoyed practicing my Spanish with her. She was by far one of my favorite people on this Earth.

Louis, thank you for taking such good care of your mom. Please know that we appreciate you.

Love, Erin (Tom, Nancy, & Lisa)

I'm sorry to say goodbye to a lovely lady that I called girlfriend and gram . She always greated me with and smile and never forgot to ask how I was feeling . She gave me the pleasure to cook for her and it warmed my heart to hear her say that the food brought back old memories of her cooking for her husband . She never forgot to ask me how Domenic was doing and talking about Louis and John bring him to visit when he was just a wee baby . I'm glad that she had the chance to see Domenic and tell him how she would hold him and kiss him when he was just that little baby and how she loved seeing him . When we had the chance to sit and talk I would ask her how she was feeling and she would say , I'm fine what can I expect , she would say you need to rest and take care of yourself and don't worry so much . She had such a warm heart and didn't want anyone to worry about her . Everytime I left her house I would tell her I would cook something for her and her reply was , Don't worry about me Doreen take care of yourself . But reminded me that she did enjoy whatever I brought her . I will my friend but I know she is resting in peace with our Lord . Louis , John and Josh you have my deapest sympathy on her passing . I know you hold many wonderful memories in your hearts and you gave her many wonderful memories that she held in hers . All my Love goes out to you .

Louis, I am so sorry to hear that your Mom passed away on Friday. Your Mom was so special to the Turner family & especially after our parents passed away in 2005. She kept us under her wing calling us on Christmas, Birthdays, or just to chat about family interactions! Sometimes those conversations would last close to an hour.

Please know how much we will miss her, & I am comforted that I got to tell her how much I loved her a week ago. Many thanks to John & Josh for Great care of Mrs. B. She certainly is among the angels now!

Our many thoughts will be with you all moving forward. Please keep in touch, because we care!

Querida Teodorita or Yaya the way you like to be called, thank you very much for all the love you gave us I will always remember you like a woman who cared about people,
all the time available to help, always giving Tatiana good advises when she was in college, calling by phone and visiting Irene when I was in a trip checking that everything was ok, giving her a lot of companion ship because you felt that she was lonely, I remember that you always ask me to sent you a post card whenever I traveled because it was a way for you to always be with me, your loss has my heart heavy, and I will miss you. I know you are looking down on me. I will always love you very much

Louis, John and Josh,
Words are never adequate in moments like these. We will say though, that our hearts go out to you, and we will always remember the memories that we are privileged to have knowing MM. Watching the love within their family by the times that they shared will always be in their hearts and memories, such as when Louis and MM baking and cooking together in the kitchen sharing fond memories. John singing and having deep conversations with MM and making her laugh and Josh by doing anything that would make things easier for her. and to see how she would light up when she saw him. My thoughts are with all of you.

Louis and John ~

Yesterday was my Mom's birthday, and it gives me some comfort thinking that she celebrated her birthday having reunited with your Mom. Their friendship was forged over grilled cheeses at our kitchen table, and their hearts opened up to each other despite the differences in the worlds they came from. This morning I am missing them both. I will be forever grateful for the friendship and kindness of your Mom, and treasure the story of how she became part of our family.

I wanted to share the note that your Mom gave to us to read at our Dad's funeral. My brother-in-law wisely intercepted knowing we would never be able to get through it. It still brings tears to my eyes, and I treasure it greatly.

To Dr. Turner,
My dear friend, your heart never knew the boundaries of the human race, for you it didn't matter whether one was rich or poor. You always treated everyone equally and your kindness had no limits, and so one could not help it but to love you dearly. Today with a very heavy heart and crushed soul, I have to say to you my dear friend goodbye, but not forever only for awhile.
My dear friend, the sun is shining it seems to smile. Majestic music echoes in the sky, choirs of angels are ringing for you a hymn of welcome into the dwelling where you belong. Your long and painful journey has come to an end. Although I will miss you, I am glad for you because you will never again have to experience such a tremendous pain. So my friend goodbye, but not forever. I do hope we meet again at the gate of the eternal life and then there will be no more goodbyes.
With love, Teodora

In the words of your Mom, Today with a very heavy heart and crushed soul, I have to say to you my dear friend goodbye, but not forever only for awhile.

I know the days ahead will be hard. You were an amazing son, and she loved you dearly. I hope you find comfort in knowing how much we love you both.

So much love ~
