Thomas Setto Obituary

Thomas Charles Setto, 65, of Houston, died Wednesday, July 24, 2024 in St. Clair Hospital surrounded by loving family, after a long battle with various illnesses. He was born September 4, 1958 in Canonsburg. The son of Paul J. and Betty Elizabeth Gump Setto. After graduation from Chartiers-Houston High School and California University of PA, he pursued a career in the food industry, managing restaurants throughout Pennsylvania and New York, as well as the food service for the City of Chicago School District. He also served as the CEP of a nonprofit organization until his illnesses forced him to retire. Tom enjoyed sports and closely followed the Pittsburgh professional teams. He also enjoyed browsing his phone to find out the daily happenings in the world. He is survived by two brothers, Paul Q. Setto (Janet) and Bill (Judy) Setto, all of Canonsburg, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Tom was proceeded in death by his brother, Robert "Bob" Setto. When Tom moved back to the Houston area, he volunteered at the Canonsburg and Houston Meals on Wheels for many years. The volunteers said that Tom was always saying "give them more." His concern was that people would always have enough food. All services will be held privately with the family.
