Timothy Mark McClure, 63, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, and Ft. Pierce, Fla., passed away Saturday evening, October 6, 2018, in his home outside Bellefontaine.
He was born July 4, 1955, in Washington, a son of the late Charles William and Mary Alice Failinger McClure.
Tim graduated in 1973 from Washington High School. Following graduation, he worked for C&O Railroad, followed by Dayton Union Railroad, Conrail, and then became superintendent with C&S Construction Eastern & Western Regions for Norfolk Southern Railroad. After 41 years with the railroad, Tim retired in 2015 to spend his winters in Florida. In his spare time, he enjoyed taking trips on his motorcycle, golfing, and most recently playing bocce ball in Florida. As his health declined, he sought treatment at Scully-Welsh Cancer Center in Vero Beach, Fla., and became an advocate patient adviser on the council at Scully-Welsh.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Mortimore McClure, whom he married April 6, 1995, in Gatlinburg, Tenn.; children, Stefanie (Tom) Wildermuth of Zanesfield, Ohio, Trent (Krista) McClure of Atlanta, Ga., Alyson (Shawn) Watrous of Columbus, Ohio, and Colby McClure of Cincinnati, Ohio; four grandchildren, SSgt. Brayden Wall, who is currently deployed with the U.S. Air Force, Madison Wildermuth, Kinley McClure, and Archer Watrous; a sister, Susan (Ed) Hendricksen of Washington; and a brother, Charles (Carmella Kasmarik) McClure of Ft. Pierce, Fla.
Tim never met a stranger. He was a very caring and loving person and would do anything to help out his family and friends in Ohio and Florida. His greatest love was spending time with family and friends. All who loved him will dearly miss him.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Bellefontaine, Ohio. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 12, in the funeral home. Burial will be held in Harper Cemetery.
