Tracy Lee McDermott, 56, of Washington, died Wednesday, February 24, 2021, in the Donnell House.

She was born June 27, 1964, in Washington, a daughter of the late Paul Edward Yater Sr. and Geneva June Allen Yater.

Tracy was a 1982 graduate of Trinity High School.

She loved her job working in the cafeteria and interacting with the children in the Trinity School district.

Tracy enjoyed gardening, flowers and watching the cardinals outside. She loved Blizzard, the three-legged dog, but her greatest joy was spending time with her children and watching them play sports.

Surviving are two children, Katherine B. "Katie" McDermott of Washington and James Robert "Robbie" George McDermott of Washington; a brother, William H. "Bill" (Darlene) Yater of Claysville; six nieces and nephews, William C. (Andrea) Yater, Amy L. (James) Murray, Ashley D. (Joseph) Lese, Paul E. (Lynn) Yater, Martin P. Yater and Zachary S. Yater; numerous great-nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends. Tracy was loved by many.

Deceased is a brother, Paul E. Yater Jr.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m., the time of service, Saturday, February 27, in the Arise Christian Fellowship Church, 682 Broad Street, Washington, with Pastor Timothy Lindsay officiating.
