Vernon D. Haney

Vernon D. Haney, 87, of Greensboro, Mapletown, died unexpectedly at 8:55 p.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2017, in Uniontown Hospital.
He was born June 3, 1930, in Mapletown, a son of the late Clarence Colvin and Lucy Leona Tanner Haney.
Mr. Haney was a lifelong resident of Greene County.
He was Methodist.
Mr. Haney served with the U.S. Army in Korea and worked for Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for more than 30 years as a truck driver and equipment operator and retired as a foreman in the early 1990s.
He enjoyed music and was a self-taught musician. He played piano, guitar, banjo, accordion and trombone. Mr. Haney had a great sense of humor and especially enjoyed the company of his family.
On February 13, 1955, he married Mary Lou Lint, who survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Clarence "Rusty" Haney (Jonea) of Dilliner, Kevin L. Haney (Julie) of Hillsboro, Ohio, Randy V. Haney (Susan) of Warner Robins, Ga., and Rick W. Haney (Tammy) of Summerville, S.C.; two daughters, Melissa J. Klein (Hunter) of Waynesburg and Merri E. Chapman of Kannapolis, N.C.; 10 grandchildren, Sara, Andy, Audrey, Adam, Randi, Garion, Stephen, Carlie, Maddy and Penny; three great-grandchildren, Rachael, Emily and Laney; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Haney also leaves behind his Chihuahua, Maizy.
Deceased are a son, Mark D. Haney; four brothers, Wilbur, Leslie, Harold and Paul Haney; and a sister, Hilda H. Brumley.
Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., the time of service, Sunday in Yoskovich Funeral Home, 300 South Vine Street, Carmichaels, 724-966-5500, Martin J. Yoskovich, funeral director, with Mr. Clarence "Rusty" Haney officiating.
A graveside committal will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 18, in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township, with military honors accorded by Carmichaels Honor Guard and the U.S. Army.
