Virginia Mae Kiefer, 90, of Canonsburg, died Thursday, January 21, 2021. She was born November 12, 1930, in Mather, a daughter of the late Robert and Mamie Shipley Deter.
On January 31, 1953, she married John W. Kiefer, who died October 11, 2005, after 52 years of marriage. She was a member of First Christian Church of Canonsburg.
Prior to her retirement, Virginia worked as a cook at McMurray Hills Manor. She volunteered at the Canonsburg Hospital and for Meals on Wheels.
Surviving are her daughters, Debra Lloyd of Canonsburg, Donna (Thomas) Sluciak of Strabane and Doreen (Michael) Herron of Canonsburg; seven grandchildren, William (Tracey), John (Christina), David (Nichole), Jaclyn (Mark), Thomas (Chelsie Barringer), Michael (Melissa), Bernadette; 12 great-grandchildren, Kenneth, William, Dakota, Jacob, Hunter, Isabella, Sierra, Kianna, Ezra, Ezekiel, Logan and Luke; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Albert, Charles, Robert, Edward, Gilbert, Levi and Henry; and one grandchild, Christina Cannon.
Due to uncertainties associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no public visitation and services are private. Arrangements entrusted to the Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, 724-746-1000.
