William Berry Obituary

William Russell "Bill" Berry, 82, of Marianna, died Saturday, March 21, 2026, in Standish's Personal Care Home. He was born in Amwell Township on April 15, 1943, a son of the late Russell Bankhead and Mary Mowl Berry. He attended Trinity High School and then went on to proudly serve in the United States Marine Corps. He then worked for Marianna Scenery Hill Telephone Company for over 35 years, retiring in 2005. In his early years he attended Emmanuel United Presbyterian Church in Eighty Four. He loved mowing grass, listening to music, and sitting on his porch. He enjoyed visiting with his friends and family, and he truly loved helping others. He is survived by a daughter, Melissa Berry and husband, Scott Sakai of Canonsburg; son, Rick Schroeder (Teri) of Greensboro, North Carolina; three grandchildren: Tori Schroeder, Tara Schroeder and Jonathan (Peyton) Sakai; sister, Martha Jean Hanson of Iowa; longtime friend, Mary Berry of Washington; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Deceased, in addition to his parents, is a sister, Betty Ann Berry. At the request of the deceased, a memorial service will be held at a later date. Funeral Arrangements are being handled by Nichol Funeral Home, 1873 East Maiden Street, Washington. An online guestbook may be signed at www.nicholfuneralhome.
