William R. Burrie Sr. passed away almost a year ago. Although I've never met or knew him personally, I know a lot about his wartime service during World War II. I have a digital copy of a diary from a buddy of William Burrie. They served in the same squad: 2nd Squad, 2nd Platoon, C Company, 1st Battalion, 119th Infantry Regiment, 30th Infantry Division. I would love to get in touch with his family. I sent several emails to Paul M. Lesako Funeral Home, I think that is the easiest way to get in touch.

I will miss my dad every day. I loved "going home" every year. We worked in the garden, canned, cooked, and visited many friends and family. He would stay for a cup of coffee and maybe a cookie, and then move on to the next home. Pap loved traveling to Arizona to pick lemons, oranges and grapefruit to bring back to deliver the fruit to everyone. We had trips to Mexico, Las Vegas and Ohio. The garden was his favorite place to be. So many people enjoyed driving by his garden and then going home with a bagful of vegetables. I love you Pap and so glad Brad and Connie took such great care of you. I have so many wonderful memories and glad you got to spend so much time with us. Love from Dan, Brian, Shannon, Charlie, Savannah and Remi and me.
