Andrew Scott Obituary
Ocala - Andrew J. Scott, 82, passed away May 12, 2010 at Legacy Hospice House. Mr. Scott was born in Brooklyn, NY on January 24, 1928 to Helen Heaney and Andrew Scott. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he trained in a Mountain and Winter Warfare Survival Special Forces Unit as a ski trooper and mountain climber. He was an associate member of the U.S. Army Rangers Association and member of the American Legion Post 354. he was a manager in the retail industry. He moved to Ocala from New York in 1985. He was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church where he served as an usher. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rose Scott; daughters, Andrea Scott of St. James, NY, and Marlene Rose Masterson and husband William of Brewster, NY; son, Richard A. Scott and wife Lynn of Floral Park, NY; brother; Francis Scott of Ocala; grandchildren, Pamela, Kelsey, Jaime, Jesse, Christopher, Danielle, Samantha, and Alexis. Funeral mass will be Monday, May 17, 2010 at 8:30 AM at the Queen of Peace Catholic Church on SR200 with Father Patrick J. O'Doherty officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, May 16 from 2:00 - 6:00 PM at Hiers-Baxley TimberRidge Chapel, 9695 SW 110th St. Entombment will be at Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens with Military Honors provided by Angela Santos VFW Post 4781 of Ocala.

Dear Rose, I was quite surprised when I read that Andy had died........doesn't seem that long ago when I saw him. Please know that you and your family are in my prayers. I am unable to atten the funeral since I am out of town. Andy was the best..........God bless you Rose. Teresa Pinkos, Ocala FL

Rose, I am so sorry and surprised to hear that Andy had passed away. When I called and talked to you all a few weeks ago and asked him how he was doing he said his health was about the same. He was the sweetest and most helpful and careing person and always a worker. Bo and I loved having you all as across the street neighbors, even though it was for a short time. He will be greatly missed.

Dear Rose, Richie & Andrea,
I loved your Husband and Father, he was so generous and giving of his time and talent to all who knew him. I loved hearing all his "war" stories, it reminded me of my own Mom and Dad and I will miss him very much! Love, Pat McLean and family.
