Carmen Greiner Obituary

GREINER,
CARMEN ROBERSON, 50
Ocala - Carmen Roberson Greiner, 50, of Ocala went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Shands at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Carmen Roberson Greiner was a native of Montgomery, Alabama. Although her career had taken her in many directions including Lexington Kentucky she considered Ocala home. To her family and many friends she seemed like a native Ocalan.
Carmen was a graduate of Florida State University (B.A.) as well as the Jones School of Law. After receiving her law degree Carmen was proud to clerk for Justice Maddox of the Alabama Supreme Court.
Carmen was very active in her community and was involved in many clubs and organizations such as the Marion Cultural Alliance, Munroe Foundation, First Baptist Church of Montgomery Alabama, The Junior League and the downtown Business Alliance to name a few.
Carmen was best remembered for Ocala Traditions, a fine gift store she founded with Paula King. Carmen took great joy in employing many young ladies prior to their college experience and helping many with recommendation letters to achieve admittance into sororities of their choice.
Carmen enjoyed many things especially going to the beach with family and friends. She was an avid college football fan who enjoyed cheering for her father's Alabama Crimson Tide and her beloved Florida State Seminoles under coach Bobby Bowden where she was also a garnet and gold girl. She was president of KD sorority while in college and still remained active throughout her life. Carmen considered herself blessed with the relationship she had with Redeemer Christian School where her daughter attends and she loved contributing in any way she could, which included fundraising and volunteering. She was a member of Meadowbrook Church and enjoyed getting together once a month for small group fellowship.
Carmen was a giver and her last gift was that of being an organ donor an act which helped her to give life to five other people.
She is survived by her loving husband, Augie Greiner; precious daughter, Grayson Greiner; adoring parents, Jerry and Glenda (Busia) Roberson; grandmother, JoAnn Brewster; mother in love, Susan Greiner; and the extended Greiner and Roberson families.
A funeral service will be held at 4PM on Friday, September 29, 2017 at Meadowbrook Church, 4741 SW 20th Street, Ocala, FL, 34474. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service with a reception to follow at Redeemer Christian School, 155 SW 87th Pl, Ocala, FL 34476. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Redeemer Christian School in Carmen's name. Online condolences may be sent at www.hiers-baxley.com.
