Ocala - Dr. Genevieve Leslie Wilson, Ph.D., 91 years, of Ocala, FL, died on Friday, January 2, 2015 in Ocala. She was born on January 31, 1923 in Pittsburgh, PA. She grew up in Pittsburgh and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, receiving her Bachelors Degree and then her Master of Social Work. She then attended the Warner School at the University of Rochester, Rochester, NY; graduating on February 1, 1985, where she received her Doctorate Degree of Higher Education Administration; which allowed her to become a professor at the State University of New York at Brockport.
Dr. Wilson was a lifelong member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. She married her husband Charles in 1946 and together they traveled the world. Genevieve was a devoted member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church of Ocala.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Steven and Genevieve (Goldstone) Howard brother Steven and sister Agnes Davis.
Genevieve is survived by her son Charles W. Wilson, Jr. of Jessup MD; grandchildren Charles W. Wilson IV and Genevieve C. Wilson, both of Baltimore, MD; great-grandchildren Charles G. Wilson and Trina Wilson.; nieces Stephanie El, of Charlotte, NC, Suzanne Davis of Los Angeles, CA, Lydia Howard and Leslie Davis, both of Pittsburgh, PA, and nephews Gregory Davis of Petaluma, CA and Christopher Davis of Los Angeles, CA.

A memorial service will be will be held Saturday, February 7th at 2:00 PM at Hiers-Baxley TimberRidge Chapel, 9695 SW 110th Street, Ocala.
