Henry Sweeny Obituary

Dr. Henry A. "Bo" Sweeny, Jr.

Ocala - Dr. Henry A. "Bo" Sweeny, Jr., 48, of Ocala, Florida, passed away July 17, 2021, at West Marion Community Hospital, Ocala, Florida.

Bo was born in Pensacola, Florida a son of Dr. Henry A. Sweeny of Belleview, FL and Teresa (Reidelbach) Langford of Alexandria, Virginia. Dr. Sweeny joined the Belleview Family Dental practice in July 2003. He was a graduate of the University of Florida with a Masters of Science in Food Science and Human Nutrition and Doctor of Dental Medicine. Bo was an avid fisherman and in his free time also enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews, golfing, hunting, exercising, and volunteering in the community. Bo was a fanatic fan of the Florida Gators and a legend amongst his fraternity (PIKE).

Bo is survived by his father, Dr. Henry A. Sweeny (Belleview, FL), his mother and stepfather, Terri and Larry Langford (Chuluota, FL) and his siblings Samuel J. Sweeny and his wife Sarah, Ryan M. Langford and his wife Jamie, Larissa Sweeny and her husband Matthew and Patrick L. Sweeny and his wife Amber. He was the adoring uncle of Taylor and Andrew Sweeny, Fischer and Josie Langford, and Kylie, Khloe, and Jaxon Sweeny. Bo is also survived by his step-mother Carla Sweeny. Bo was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Paul L. and Sammie H. Sweeny and his maternal grandparents John Albert and Ann Reidelbach, and his cousin, Paul L. "Jake" Sweeny, III.

The outpouring of love and testimonials from those lives touched by Bo is a testament to the depth with which he loved. He was a son, a brother, an uncle, a nephew, a cousin, a soul mate, and the best friend to those fortunate enough to have been embraced by the warmth and joy that he carried with him always. Our hearts will forever ache with the emptiness that has been left, his life taken from us too soon.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Belleview, 6107 SE Agnew Rd., Belleview, FL 34420 followed by interment in Belleview Cemetery. Life is but a short walk through time. Sometimes you meet people who make a difference. Bo Sweeny was one of those people. He was supposed to be my son Michael´s friend, but once introduced, Bo also became my friend. He wasn´t your typical 40ish man. He had this fun seeking energy about him. He loved UF football, cars, women, and especially fishing. He was proud of his brother´s golfing ability and very proud of a career right beside his Dad and other brother. I don´t know why I just found out about this today, but to the Sweeny family, may he rest in peace. He was a terrific person and I will miss him forever!
