MUNDEE, HESTER ANN 'POLLY' CHAZAL
Ocala - Hester Ann 'Polly' Chazal Mundee, 89, of Ocala, FL and Albany, GA, passed away peacefully in the night Saturday, September 9th, 2017 at Windsor of Ocala.
She was born in Ocala in 1928 to Charles Philip and Mary Hester 'Suzee' Chazal, the youngest of four children and part of one of the early families of Ocala. She attended Ocala High School and Florida State University. In 1952, she married E. Marshall Mundee prior to moving to Albany, GA where her family, along with her two sisters and their family also resided. Together they had seven children. She was a homemaker and, later for many years, worked for Georgia Federal Bank as a Loan Officer, a position from which she retired in the late 1990's.
Polly was involved with the Charity League of Albany as well as Merry Makers. She played Bridge with the same group of friends (the 'Bridge Club') each week for over 50 years in Albany until returning to Ocala. She was a devout Catholic and a longtime parishioner at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Albany, Ga and later Blessed Trinity Catholic Church in Ocala. She was an avid reader and enjoyed books of all kinds.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marshall Mundee; sisters, Mary Keenan and Jeanne Chazal; one son, Joseph Mundee; and son-in-law, Lynn Jones.
She leaves behind six children, daughters, Anne Jones, Kay (Craig) Nolan, Jeanne (James) Barton, Ginger (Michael) Hakala; sons, Marsh and David; 10 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one brother, Dick Chazal of Ocala, FL; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church in Ocala on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 9am. Funeral will be in Albany, GA on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 11am at St. Teresa's Catholic Church, burial service to follow at Floral Gardens Memorial with a visitation and rosary service Friday Night at Kimbrell-Stern in Albany. Roberts Bruce East Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
