JOYCE ANN CANNON, 61
Anthony - Joyce Ann Cannon Priest, 61, of Anthony, FL passed away August 8, 2016 at Hospice. Born to Daniel C. Cannon, II and Joyce Williams Cannon on May 8, 1955 in Bartow, FL. Joyce graduated from Vanguard High School in 1973. Joyce was a Rural Carrier for 28 years and a Rural Mail Carrier Academy Instructor for USPS. An avid fan of Nascar's Tony Stewart. She loved Clemson Tigers football. She also enjoyed camping and hiking in the mountains. As a teenager she sang for 'One in the Spirit' music group and continued to sing at church throughout her life. Joyce was very involved in ministry and compelling people to come to church. She would provide transportation for those who needed a way to church.
Joyce was preceded in death by her father, Daniel C. Cannon, II.
She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Douglas; mother, Joyce Williams Cannon; son, Clayton D. Priest (Andrea); daughter, Leslie Ann Munden (Travis); brothers, Daniel C. Cannon, III (Paula), Lt. Col. Williams Robert Cannon (Lori); sister, Cheryll D. Cannon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ocala Springs Baptist Church - Building Fund. 5000 NE 36th Ave Ocala, FL 34479. Visitation will be held Friday, August 12, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Countryside Funeral Home, Anthony, FL. Memorial service will be held Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Unity Baptist Church, Anthony, FL.

Joyce was so full of joy and love. I have memories of her that will always be in my head and heart. I remember her riding the bike with Clay raising money for the youth. She is precious, the little children up in heaven are having fun with her.

Dear Joyce you will be missed by so many. It was a sad day when you retired as our mail carrier in Saddle Oak Club, but now this is an even sadder day. The Lord takes the good to be with him sooner than we all would like, but now you are singing just for him and making him smile. My condolences to Joyce's family. I know you have lost an angel.

My heart breaks for all the dreams Joyce held that are now unfulfilled and for all of the family and friends left behind to mourn her passing.
She was our mail carrier in Saddle Oak Club, and we were so lucky to know her! She always had a smile and a friendly word for everyone. She went way above and beyond the job description for mail carrier.
I knew I would miss her a lot when she retired, but there was always hope that I'd see her again, perhaps in Ocala, perhaps in North Carolina. Now that hope is dashed (at least until the afterlife.)
The world has lost a ray of sunshine, and that makes me sad.
God bless and heal you all.

Doug,I wanted to convey my sincere sympathy on the loss of your wife. I don't think I can fully comprehend what a profound loss that is. I know that you both had a strong and loving relationship,I know she would want us to honor her memory by keeping our spirits up and moving on, as difficult as that will be.Leslie & Clay I am at a loss for adequate words to express my sadness for you. I had the blessed opportunity of knowing your mom and I know heaven just received one of the most special angels. I have Just read all of the comments that have been written about Joyce Ann and she deserves them all!! She was my husband's first cousin, so they will are together in Heaven now. Joyce Ann was the sweetest person, always jovial, and she affected others in the same way. She will be sorely missed by everyone who loved her and even those who were just acquaintances. To know Joyce Ann, was to love her! Infectious with her smile, personality, love and faith, she was. My rock when I lost my aunt 4 years ago. I can only imagine the reunion Joyce Ann and Jerald are having. I am so sorry to hear about Joyce Ann passing I remember her from our days at Anthony Baptist Church and the youth choir. She was the best choir leader I ever had. She was such an amazing happy girl. I have so many fond memories of her. I know she is singing in heaven now.

To the Priest family, your Mother was a delight to know. She would sit on our front porch at lunch time and we would laugh and kid around about all the things she want to do after retirement but it seems that God needed her more. Joyce Ann was the sweetest, most helpful person. She would do anything for you and loved doing it. She was fierce and strong and spoke her mind. I believe she has a place of authority in Heaven.
