KEVIN MAHAFFEY Obituary
Dunedin - Kevin Mahaffey, 54, passed away on September 8, 2016 in Dunedin, Florida. He was born June 18, 1962 in Miami, Florida. Kevin lived in Ocala, Florida, went to Osceola Junior High and Forest High School.
He worked for Ocala Power and Florida Power Corp, he loved doing power line work. He worked Hurricane Hugo in South Carolina and Hurricane Andrew in Miami. He and his family moved west and he did power line work in Wyoming, Idaho and Washington State.
He is survived by his parents, James and Patricia Mahaffey of Gainesville, Florida; three children, Tyler and Brittney Mahaffey in Ocala, Morgan Mahaffey, in Seattle, Washington; two grandsons, Nolan and Wyatt in Ocala; a brother, James II and his wife, Lynne, of St. Petersburg, Florida; James' two daughters, Brook Mahaffey in Ocala and Breana Mahaffey in St. Petersburg. Kevin had numerous aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews in Florida, Kansas, Arizona, Texas, Georgia and California.
He was cremated and wanted his ashes spread in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Hey dadmiss you a lotNannie and Poppie are now passed too and it’s just weird that you’re all gone. I’d give anything to spend one more day with all you guys as a family. I know we weren’t the most perfect family but man we sure did love each other a lot. This will be my last time writing on here daddyo. Ready to let go and move on..Hope you all know how much I love you and miss you. My life with you guys I will never forget!

Hey Dad!
I’ll be honest this is the first year I wasn’t sad on your birthday or Father’s Day. I think you’d be pleased that me thinking of you only makes me happy these days and that I’m no longer stuck in grief. Thanks for bringing me to Christ, you did exactly what he calls a parent to do.
This will be my last message because I don’t need this anymore. I wouldn’t have ever wanted a different dad, you were the best. Can’t wait to see you again, because I know I will, love you lots!

Prayers continue for Kevin's family, friends and classmates. We were classmates at Osceola Middle and Forest High Schools. I remember him as a funny, sweet and very nice guy. I loved his smile and grin. It's been a very long time since I've seen him, but he was always some one that I remembered fondly and laughed with. May the Lord give you all the peace that passes understanding. God Bless.
