MICHAEL JACOBS Obituary
Silver Springs - Michael J. Jacobs, 65, passed away on May 30, 2017. Born in Bowling Green, Ohio on February 19, 1952 to Lester and Cora Jacobs. He came to Florida in the 1960's where he became a Cowboy for Lykes Bros, earning his silver spurs in rodeo for Saddle Bronc. Mike joined the ABC Corp at Weeki Wachee Holiday Inn in the early 70's and went on to Silver Springs & Historic Town of Smithville. Then returned to Silver Springs where he remained working at until 1999. He then went to Weeki Wachee for three years before joining the Marion County School Board until he retired in 2014. Michael enjoyed hunting, fishing, hosting BBQ parties, and spending time at his home in Crystal River.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Cora Jacobs; and in-laws, Glen and Marge Penfield.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Vicki; daughter, Tiffany McMullen (Shannon); brothers, Phillip (Yolanda), Tim (Patti), Tom (Nancy), Roger (Carol); beloved grandsons, Cale, Hunter; nieces, Tina, Leslie, Heather; nephew, Michael; and three grand nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 9, 2017, at Countryside Funeral Home, Anthony, FL with David Hope officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Countryside Funeral Home, Anthony, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Marion County, PO Box 4860, Ocala, FL 34478-4860

Mike and i didn't always agree with some issues. That's a job title issue, not a personal issue. This man taught me a lot and he always had my full attention and respect. Hard to believe I will never bump into him and his beautiful wife in Brooksville or wherever. Been a few months now? This loss is crushing. Loss of a great man.

Vicki. Hope I got your name right. Same as my Mom's. Your love was undying and it showed everyday. Mike lived for you and your daughter. Nothing more and nothing less. I'm still in shock.

Mike, A man who thought me so much in my younger day's. A mentor and a friend. You just don't come across a lot of Mikes in your life. God bless Vicky, and Tiff! Your in my prayers.
