Patricia Roberts Obituary

Patricia C. Roberts
Dunnellon - ROBERTS, Patricia C. "Patty"
Mrs. Patty Roberts, longtime resident of Dunnellon and owner of Roberts Funeral Home of Dunnellon, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, following a long battle with Covid-19.
Patty was born in Lafayette, Indiana, and spent most of her younger years in Ponce de Leon, Florida, where her father had a 680 acre farm. When she was 16, her Dad sold the farm and moved to Ocala, where he purchased the Flamingo Motel on Silver Springs Blvd. Patty was a majorette at Ocala High School, where she met the love of her life and future husband, Kenneth E. Roberts. They were married in 1965, and spent their honeymoon traveling to Dallas, Texas, where Kenny was enrolled in the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science. After graduation, they returned to Ocala to join in the family business and start their family. In 1992, Kenny and Patty assumed control of Roberts Funeral Home of Dunnellon, where they worked side by side until Kenny's death in 2017.
Patty was a loving and generous wife, mother, and grandmother who wore her heart on her sleeve. She was at peace at the river and could usually be found sitting on the porch enjoying the stunning view with a cook book in hand. She loved to cook, was good at it, and everyone knew it. Most importantly, she dedicated her life to her family and we will miss her forever.
She is survived by her son Kevin K. Roberts (Karen), her daughter Pam Jo Roberts and her husband Alan Skelton, her brother Ronnie Cole, her sister Donna Grice, and her five grandchildren, Taylor and Cole Roberts, and Ansley, Parker, and Sawyer Skelton. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Kenneth E. Roberts.
A memorial service will be held after the holidays, date and time to be announced.
Memorial contributions may be made to Michelle-O-Gram, 21765 SW 106 Lane Road, Dunnellon, FL 34431, a non-profit charitable organization that was very special to Patty.

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief. I worked with Patty at Monroe and Chambliss Bank when we were both very young. She was a fun, friendly person to be with.
