Mrs. Ingram was my teacher at LWHS my senior year (2002). She taught with my stepmom at Ft. McCoy years before. I remember I was in her homeroom when 9/11/01 happened and everyone was panicking and shocked. She was crying trying to explain to us what we were seeing on CNN over and over and what the result would be. I remember her telling us about her cancer so I got brave and at 17 told her about my cancer too. We both had chemo that year but we never could get our appointments to line up to go together. She was a great person who deserved the golden apple award she has. Today, I'm a teacher also and I know how important it is to be there for your students because she was there for me. Your spirit will always be with us.

Typically, when someone dies, people make up good things to say about them and omit the bad things because it's the "right" thing to do. In this case, good things don't have to be made up and bad things don't exist... Mrs. Ingram was a saint! She was sweet, compassionate, funny, caring, and kind... I had her as a homeroom teacher back in the early 2000s and one day, she overheard some other kids picking on me... she got up and addressed the entire class and gave a moving speech about diversity and tolerance and accepting people who were different... I was so touched, I almost cried. I remeber how happy she was she she became Mrs. Ingram instead of Ms. Neal... I used to tease her about marrying the guy who always had a beer can the back of his red Ford Ranger :o) She loved you, Ron, and everybody loved her. Just take comfort in the fact that she touched everyone she encountered and you are not alone in your greif for her. I'm sorry I never got the chance to reconnect with her and that she was taken from us much too soon. I bet right now she is teaching the angels how to invert fractions while smiling down on us :)
