Summerfield - Thomas J. Guinto, 89, of Summerfield, Florida, formerly of Brooklyn, New York, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2015. He was born on July 4, 1925 in New York, New York. Tom was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. He worked as a construction surveyor and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. In July of 1995 Tom and his late wife Dorothy; who passed away on October 17, 2014, moved to Ocala from New York City. He enjoyed a day at the horse races.
Tom is survived by his children; Tom Hall, James Guinto, Barbara Dwyer, Anthony Guinto, Thomas Guinto and Francis Guinto; 23 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter and his niece Phyllis Paulsen.
The visitation will be held in the TimberRidge Chapel of Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home, 9695 SW 110th St., Ocala, 34481 on Thursday, March 5, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.. The Chapel service will be at the funeral home on Friday, March 6th at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow with full military honors at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
