VADA RIGOR Obituary
Tomball, TX - Vada Rigor, 85, passed away peacefully July 21, 2013 in Tomball, Texas, surrounded by her family. She was born March 10, 1928 in Wolf County, Kentucky to parents Carl and Maude Stewart. She and her husband moved to Ocala, Florida in 1981 to retire and escape the snow of Greenwood, Indiana. She had been a medical assistant to an orthopedic surgeon in Indianapolis for 25 years. She and her husband were members at the Leesburg Boat Club. Vada was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a member of the Ocala Woman's Golf Association 9 Hole Division, and an honorary lifetime member of the Ocala Dance Club.
She is survived by her daughter, Sherry (Henry) Hilliard of Tomball, Texas; grandchildren, Jennifer and Christopher Hilliard; and great grandsons, Jack and Henry Strickley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Maude and Carl Stewart of Greenwood, Indiana; and her husband of 43 years, Jack H. Rigor.
Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 20 at 11:00 a.m. in Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services Chapel, 910 E. Silver Springs Boulevard, Ocala, Florida with Reverend Mary Beth Harper of First Christian Church officiating.

I use to give Vada's medicures every other week while she lived here in years here in Ocala. Vada also came to our church, First Christian Church here in Ocala. Vada was such a sweet lady and when she was in the hospital, I would go visit here there. I planned to go see her at the church service on Sept. 20, but we plan to leave that day to go to NC for our annual family reunion. I just had a brain surgery at the Moffitt Cancer center on Sept. 27, and will have to begin radiation and chemo for 6 months. I will be able to do the surgeries here in Ocala, rather than going to Tampa, which will help. Please send me your address, as I would like to send a card. My e-mail address is [email protected].
