PENSKI, WALTER E.
Walter E. Penski, 87, died on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at his home in Ocala.
He leaves behind his sons, Andrew and Christopher Penski (Laverna); his twin brother, Stanley Penski (Shirley); his sisters, Helen Rutkowski and Ann Rand; his three grandchildren, Christopher, Steven, Kelsey Penski and four great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Penski in 2013; and his daughter in law, Nancy Penski in 2017.
Walter was born in Cliffside Park, New Jersey and was the son to the late Frank and Mary(Gosiewski) Penski. He grew up in Southampton, Long Island and following high school he enlisted with the United States Air Force in which he became a Flight Engineer and was part of the US Air Force Air Sea Rescue Service. He retired with the Suffolk County Sheriffs office in New York as a Lieutenant. In 1989, he moved to Austin, Texas, and in 2006 moved to Ocala. He was a parishioner of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church in Ocala and former member of the Moose Lodge in New York, and member of the Fraternal Order of Police in Ocala. Walter enjoyed life to the fullest especially on the golf course and working in the yard at his home. He was a strong willed man who loved his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 from 5-7 PM with a Vigil at 6:00 PM at Roberts Funeral Home of Dunnellon. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the Blessed Trinity Catholic Church in Ocala.
