Donna Duffy Obituary

INDEPENDENCE - Donna M. Duffy, 87, of Independence, died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011, at the Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Independence, on July 9, 1924, to Dennis and Hanora (Jamason) Sullivan, she graduated from St. John High School in 1942. On May 15, 1946, she married Clifford F. Duffy at St. John The Evangelist Church. He died in 1994.
Donna retired in 1995 from People's Memorial Hospital after 30 years as Medical Records Department Manager.
Survivors include two daughters, Carole (Robert) Schultes, Cedar Rapids, and Marilyn (Allen) Goble, Atlanta, Ga.; two sons, Larry (Barbara), Marshalltown, and Gordon (Linda), Atlanta, Ga.; 10 grandchildren; a daughter-in-law Sharyl (Seifert) Duffy, Albuquerque, N.M., and seven great grandchildren. 
Preceding her in death were two sons, Ricky Lee in 1947, and Gary in 1979, her parents, three brothers, Leo, Alfred and Arthur Sullivan, and one sister Alverna Bohren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at St. John Catholic Church, Independence. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at White Funeral Home in Independence, with a parish rosary at 3:00 p.m., and vigil service at 7:30 p.m.
