OELWEIN - Kenneth R. Frisch, 79, of Oelwein, died Saturday morning, July 9, 2016 at Allen Memorial – Unity Point Hospital in Waterloo.
His funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein with the Rev. Connie Markle officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and for one hour before the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
A memorial fund has been established.

Kenneth Ray Frisch was born Aug. 1, 1936 in Sumner, Iowa, the son of Clarence and Frances Frisch. Kenny graduated from Oelwein Community High School in the class of 1956. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years. Kenny was united in marriage to Geraldine Marion Ash on Dec. 27, 1961 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He worked for Bob Rechkemmer Construction and then at Transco, retiring in 1999.
Kenny was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Oelwein American Legion Ross Reid Post 9, Ducks Unlimited and the I Club. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan, attending the home football games for the past 32 years. Kenny also enjoyed fishing, trap shooting and hunting deer, duck, geese, turkey and pheasant.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
Kenny is survived by his wife Geraldine Frisch of Oelwein; 2 daughters, Cynthia (Jerry) Sauerbrei of Readlyn and Laura (Brad) Esch of Independence; granddaughter Courtney (Corey) Buss of Readlyn; great grandson Bentley Buss; brother Ron (Linda) Frisch of Moline, Ill.; sister Marilyn Frisch of Winter Gardens, Fla., and several nieces and nephews.
Kenny was preceded in death by his grandparents August and Clara Frisch, parents, two brothers, Lowell and Dale and two sisters, Kay Frisch and Sally McNally.
