OELWEIN-Lance C. Haar, 32, of Oelwein, died suddenly on Sunday, Aug. 30, 2026, at MercyOne, Oelwein.
Celebration of life is 1-5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Schmitz Funeral Home and On-Site Crematory, Highway 150 south, Oelwein. Those in attendance are encouraged to wear their Chicago Cubs or Iowa State University apparel. Final resting place is Hazleton (Fontana) Cemetery, Hazleton.

Lance was born Feb. 18, 1994, in Oelwein, the son of Kim and Betty (Amber) Haar. He graduated from Oelwein Community High School in the class of 2012. Lance was a union plumber, most recently working for Modern Plumbing in Cedar Rapids. He was a member of the Union Plumber U.A. Local #125. In his free time, he enjoyed disc golfing, fishing, listening to music and cheering on the Chicago Cubs and the Iowa State Cyclones.
Lance is survived by his parents, Kim and Betty Haar of Oelwein; brother: Ryan Haar of Oelwein; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Lance was preceded in death by his grandparents.
