Stephen Morales Obituary
Stephen was born Aug.12, 1950, in Oelwein, Iowa. He graduated from Oelwein High School in 1968, University of Northern Iowa in 1972, and Hawkeye Technology in 1978. He married his wife, Janice Crandall from West Union, on July 3, 1976. Steve was an engineer at John Deere Tractor Works in Waterloo, for twelve years and also had a commercial photography business, Studio 4 Photography/Design.
Stephen's passion for art and music moved him with his young family to
Calabasas, CA, in 1987. He was a photographer for Dak Industries and began STEPHEN MORALES PHOTOGRAPHY. His creative work may be viewed at: www.moralesphoto.com.
Steve was especially passionate about music. At the age of four he started piano lessons and began playing in bands by the age of 13. For 54 years, Steve played with many rock'n roll, rhythm'n blues, and praise & worship bands.
Stephen is survived by his wife, Jan, San Dimas, CA, two daughters, Stephanie Morales, San Dimas, CA, and Lauren (Morales) Bristol and Charles of New Prague, MN., one sister, Debbie Morales Coontz and Bill of Atlanta, GA, and one sister-in-law Pam Morales of Cedar Rapids; and many in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
Stephen's parents and his brother, David Morales, preceded his death.
A memorial service to celebrate Steve's life will be 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, at Glendora Community Church, Glendora, CA.

I knew Steve from work at the John Deere Tractor Works, where he was an amazing engineer and coworker. He taught me so much about politics and art and energy. What an amazing man!

Iowa is 2-0 so far with big wins over Northern Illinois and Iowa State. The Hawkeyes are doing well. Keep cheering loud for um this season. Wish you were here so we could watch the games together like we used to. You are missed Boss. Very much so.

I knew Steve in Oak Park for 20 years; we walked together in the morning and our children have remained close friends. He was always happy and friendly. He played keyboards in a great band in addition to his photography profession and dedication to his family and church. RIP.

Steve was a great member of the Oelwein High School Class of 1968 and will be missed. We were glad he was able to attend our 45th reunion and he will be missed at our 50th in October.

I was so sorry to hear of Steve's passing. I'll always remember sitting next to him in band playing the saxophone. We'd be competing who would sit in "first" chair. I'd be so proud to sit there but then Steve would pass me up and I'd be in the second chair. He was very talented! Rest in peace. Bette (Riche) Bobcowski

So very sad to hear of Steve's passing. I remember him and the Morales family well. As kids, we used to play baseball in the Morales family's back yard. My folks and his folks were friends also. Sincere condolences to his family. RIP Steve.
